Terms and Conditions for Tourism Services Providers

Declaration

By registering to be a Tourism Services Provider (TSP) and using the information and/or material from this website, you declare that you and your company fulfil the requirements of a TSP as stated below. You also agree to comply with and be bound by the Terms of Use and other applicable terms and conditions stipulated on this website.

If the information you have provided becomes inaccurate or is discovered to be untrue, or if you violate the terms and conditions of your registration or use of this website, your company name will automatically be delisted and your use of this website terminated.

You agree that the Hong Kong Tourism Board can use the information that you provide for processing the listing or registration you applied for, and internal administration, marketing, promotions, research and statistical purposes.

You also grant the Hong Kong Tourism Board permission to share this information with agents, contractors or third party service providers as part of its business operations, and agree that information provided by you may be displayed on this website for sharing with other TSPs.

General Requirements

  1. Your company is duly registered, incorporated or otherwise validly exists under the laws of Hong Kong and holds all necessary and valid licenses and permits for the operation of its business.
  2. Your company must be involved in providing products and/or services to inbound visitors to Hong Kong.
    1. There have not been any justified complaints made against your company within the period of 12 months before the date hereof to the Hong Kong Tourism Board, the Consumer Council or other relevant bodies or authorities, including but not limited to the Hong Kong Police, Customs and Excise Department and the Travel Industry Council of Hong Kong, and for which your Company had received a negative judgment.
    2. Your company undertakes to inform the Hong Kong Tourism Board upon its receipt of any notice of such complaint.
    3. Your company understands that if three of any such complaints are received within a period of 12 months at any time, its name will be automatically delisted unless it is shown by your company to the satisfaction of the Hong Kong Tourism Board that such complaints are unsubstantiated or otherwise unjustified.
  3. The premises in which your company carries on business are in Hong Kong, easily identifiable as the business premises of your company and properly set up.
  4. Your company's business operations are properly and adequately managed and run by experienced and trained personnel.
  5. Your company is of sound financial standing.
  6. Your company provides good quality services and maintains ethical standards of business at all times, and is co-operative in resolving complaints from customers.
  7. Your company undertakes to provide the Hong Kong Tourism Board with all information and documents in relation to this application as and when required by the Hong Kong Tourism Board, failing which this application may be rejected or your company's name may be delisted at any time.
  8. Your company undertakes to inform the Hong Kong Tourism Board of any change of circumstances which renders the above information untrue or inaccurate.
  9. Your company understands that its name will be automatically delisted if it is found that any of the information in this declaration is or at any time becomes untrue or inaccurate, or any condition imposed by the Hong Kong Tourism Board in respect of the listing or registration applied for is breached.
  10. Your company understands that the Hong Kong Tourism Board may in its sole and absolute discretion, without prior notice, accept or reject this application, and may impose or waive at any time any conditions it deems necessary in respect of the listing or registration applied for, and may delete or remove your company's name from the list or registration at any time.

If your company operates hotel(s) / licensed guesthouse(s)/ youth hostel(s):

  1. A valid license (tourist) is held under the Hotel and Guesthouse Accommodation Ordinance
  2. A current member of Hong Kong Hotels Association, Federation of Hong Kong Hotel Owners or Hong Kong Youth Hostels Association.
  3. For operator of licensed guesthouses, your company must be Quality Tourism Services (QTS) scheme accredited merchant.

If your company operates as tour operator(s) / travel agent(s) / ground handling agent(s):

  1. A member of the Travel Industry Council of Hong Kong holding a valid Travel Agents License issued by the Registrar of Travel Agents, unless otherwise exempted under the Travel Agents Ordinance.

If your company provides venue(s):

  1. The venue should offer dedicated function space to support MICE activities such as corporate meetings, incentive trips, conferences, gala parties, group dinners, networking functions, workshops, and team building activities. Spaces of different scales would be ideal, with a minimum capacity of 20 people for each function room.
  2. Parking facilities (or information on available parking facilities within reasonable walking distance of the venue) shall be provided.
  3. The venue has an updated track record of organising and handling MICE events / activities within the past 12 months.

If your company operates as professional conference organiser(s) (PCO):

  1. Your company has an updated track record of organising international or regional conventions. This record must contain at least four events hosting a minimum of 200 overseas participants within the past 24 months.

If your company operates as destination management company(s) (DMC):

  1. Your Company should be a current member of the Travel Industry Council of Hong Kong and hold a valid Travel Agents License issued by the Registrar of Travel Agents, unless otherwise exempted under the Travel Agents Ordinance.
  2. Your company has an updated track record of organising / handling overseas corporate meetings or incentive travel. This record must contain at least 2 events hosting a minimum of 20 overseas participants within the past 12 months.

If your company operates as exhibition organiser(s):

  1. Your company has an updated track record of organising at least one trade exhibition in Hong Kong within the past 24 months.
  2. The details in the track record must meet the following definitions: only recurring trade exhibitions in Hong Kong with a gross exhibition space of over 1,819 sq.m. are counted.

If your company operates as convention and exhibition service provider(s) :

  1. The service provider is a registered member of the Hong Kong Exhibition and Convention Industry Association (HKECIA), and has an updated track record of supporting MICE organisers in the staging of the events in Hong Kong and service provision for public relations, performance arrangement and logistic services, etc within the past 24 months.
  2. The service provider should be able to conduct its services in (at least) Putonghua and English.

If your company operates as MICE product & activity provider(s):

  1. The MICE product or activity should refer to a customised group programme designed and reserved for MICE groups of 20 or more people.
  2. It should be possible to conduct the MICE product or activity in (at least) Putonghua and English.
  3. If the MICE activity refers to guided tour programmes, the tour guide employed by the MICE product and activity provider should possess a valid tour guide pass issued by the Travel Industry Council of Hong Kong.
  4. The MICE product or activity provider has an updated track record of organising / handling MICE products or activities within the past 12 months.

If your company operates cruise line(s) / as cruise travel agent(s) / shipping agent(s) / terminal(s):

  1. If you operate a cruise line, its itineraries must include overseas destinations.
  2. If your company provides the following services, all must have an updated track record of providing these services within the past 12 months:
    1. Inbound and/or outbound services for cruise passengers
    2. Travel arrangements for cruise passengers
    3. Berthing facilities for visiting ships and/or cruise passengers

If your company operates restaurant(s) / retail shop(s) / hair salon(s):

  1. Your company must be Quality Tourism Services (QTS) scheme accredited merchants.

If your company operates shopping mall(s):

  1. Your premise must have a minimum of 20 active tenant shops.

If your company operates limousine(s) / tour bus(es) / coach(es):

  1. A valid Passenger Service License (PSL) / Hire Car Permit is held for handling Tour Services / International Passenger Services / Contract Hire Services issued by the Transport Department.

If your company operates ferry(s) / boat(s) :

  1. Your company should possess a valid Motor Launch Registration License to operate tour services, and / or a valid Pleasure Vessel License to operate charter services.

If your organisation / institution provides training:

  1. In respect of General Requirements No. 2, your organisation / institution must be involved in providing training related to tourism and hospitality industry in Hong Kong.
  2. In respect of General Requirements No. 3(a)&(b), your organisation / institution must be included in the EDB (Education Bureau of the HKSAR Government) approved Supplier List and there have not been any justified complaints made against your organisation / institution to the EDB or other relevant bodies during the period as mentioned.
